Sky Painted White

Rushnaf
Wadud

Musician. Writer. Friend.

Rushnaf Wadud, অঝোর to some, while দাদাভাইয়া to some others, was a son, a brother, a friend, and, above all, an artist who was never easy to forget. He could be loved and loathed, sometimes for exactly the same reasons. He spoke his mind without apology, armed with an impeccable vocabulary, obscure references, and a gift for argument that few could rival. He was fiercely opinionated, extraordinarily talented, and entirely his own person.

He was a man of many layers, like an onion whose every skin revealed something unexpected, or a book whose deepest chapters were not easily found. But if you stayed long enough, if you were willing to peel back those layers, you would find a heart of disarming tenderness, capable of melting into the simplest expressions of love. For all his sharp edges, he never hesitated to tell people what they meant to him. Perhaps that was his own kind of courage: to be unyielding in his convictions, yet utterly unguarded in his affection.

A writer, musician, poet, and a philosopher, he left pieces of himself in everything he created. This website brings together his songs, journals, poetry, and thoughts as a collection of his voice, his imagination, and the world as he saw it.

We offer these pages not to define him, nor to make him simpler than he was, but to share a little of the person we knew and loved. To those who knew him, may these words bring him a little closer. To those who didn't, may they be offered to meet him on his own terms.

He had much to say. May none of it be left unsaid - here, in memoriam.
